Time Capsule
Our Time Capsule - a report by the Pupil Council
The Site Manager, Mr John McCready, from J B Bennett suggested that when our new extension was being
built, we should place our own time capsule in the foundations of the building. J B Bennett had
previously found a time capsule at another building site which was over 300 years old!
The time capsule is a small plastic container which we filled with a selection of items:-
a school handbook, signed by the pupil council
a school newsletter from January 2005
a school tie
our school badge
a selection of money - 50 pence, £1 coin and £2 coin
our award system for good/bad behaviour - bronze, silver and gold badges
a red nose
an information booklet about J B Bennett
a first class stamp
a mobile 'phone
Charity bands - white (poverty), yellow (live strong), pink (breast cancer)
digital photographs of our school
our school mission statement
J B Bennett made a space in one of the new classroom pillars.
Our pupil councillors lined up - 7B to 3A and Mrs MacInnes passed the time capsule down the line. Each councillor wished the time capsule a 'safe journey'. |
At the end of the line, Fraser, P4B (the lucky winner of our straw poll) had the honour of putting the time capsule in place.
Mrs MacInnes and Mr McCready checked that the capsule was secure:-

Mr McCready sealed the time capsule in place.
